A devastated town is hard to ignore. People living in poverty are easy to ignore."Poverty" is easy to ignore because it seems so big and insoluble. That's what happens with big, insoluble problems. People feel all sorts of things and try to avoid them, same as any other unpleasant stimulus. But break a big insoluble problem into manageable parts and you can just see American folk wanting to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in.
Perhaps I should find more meaning in Super Bowl nachos, rather than suggesting something as ridiculous as fasting.That's a separate point that you own 100%. ;-)
But is it the argument of the utmost highest Quality?I'm just trying to point out why predictable things occur. As they say in veterinary science: "the animal is always right." I.e. you can form a theory but if the animal's response does not match your proposal, the proposal is at fault, not the animal. That's all.
