I'm old enough to remember people running around the dorms shouting WE'RE SAVED.....WE'RE SAVED the day Johnson announced he would not run for re-election.

But the past 15 years (Bush still has a year to go - yuck) has raised the level of vitriolic opposition (more like hatred on a personal level) to heights which exceed the reaction to Johnson and Nixon.
