It's very unusual. I can't remember a nomination campaign as close and back and forth as the one between Hillary and Obama. They have both won a number of states, often by comfortable margins. Usually someone takes control and pulls away. That could still happen but, as you say, it isn't happening as quickly as usual this time.

You probably saw that Howard Dean, the Democratic party chairman, said earlier this week that he wants to see the nominee decided before the convention. He thinks a brokered convention would be too divisive and too close to the general election. Visions of smoke filled rooms....

>It was so close that anything could happen. Even with Hillary having more delegates than Obama, it could still turn and Obama could come out on top. Odds are that McCain will win the Republican nomination, but it's still not a guarantee either. Huckabee could get the votes that would have gone to Romney or McCain could get them or they could be split down the middle like the Democrats are doing with Hillary and Obama. Usually in an election, we have a pretty good idea by now (after Super Tuesday) who will be the winner of both parties. Not so this time. It is rather unusual.

>>>For fun, look at the Missouri results. Missouri has picked the president everytime except once in the past century.

>>Implying that McCain will be the winner because the dems will split their delegates, as he is clear the winner as measured by delegate count ? Or that everything is a real tossup ? Or is this a comment about H. having *not* won there ?
