>However, many, many Republicans call him the flip-flopper and that is why many would not vote for him. If the Republican stance was it was ok, then he would have garnered more votes during the primaries. I heard it all the time. That's why I wonder where the source of the information is when I see it written here that the Repubs called Kerry the flip-flopper, but for Romney it's ok or he's a staunch conservative. (I'm sure my phrase is not correct, but the gist is the same). I don't know where or what gave that opinion that Repubs see it that way?

Because I haven't heard anyone call him a flip-flopper. I have heard that some distrust his "conversion."

> I don't recall any Republican supporting his flip-flopping on the issues? I listened to talk radio quite a bit recently to see what they were saying and I think they didn't condone it, but supported Romney as the best choice of what they had to choose from.

Well, I don't listen to talk radio at all, except for "Talk of the Nation" if I happen to be in the car or kitchen at the right time. So haven't heard any of that.

>I think the Repubs (media and party leaders) are so afraid of McCain winning that they will put 100% of their support behind the most conservative option. Huckabee is too
>liberal for many Repubs as well, so that left Romney. However, the Republican voters obviously support a more liberal choice...

The idea that Huckabee could be too liberal for anyone is astonishing. Based on what I've heard, he's by far the most conservative candidate.
