Perry,

Oh that is sooo sad. Baby ducks mowed down my killer Lexus. Poor babies! Poor momma! I'm gonna have a nightmare about it now, I just know it!

I had a similar experience in college. I always took my dog Toby to class with me. He was a collie-mix and very well-behaved in class (he mostly slept). One day we were on our way to class and a beagle crossed the road to come and sniff at Toby. I don't remember if I had Toby on a leash or simply had ahold of his collar, but at any rate, he was under control. The beagle followed us for a little bit, then turned around and started trotting down the side of the road (so now he's going with traffic). Just as a big old UPS-type truck is going by, the beagle decides to cross the road without even a glance behind him and got nailed by the truck. I had happened to turn around just as it was happening and saw him get a direct hit under the rear tires. Totally crushed him. The van just kept going (how the guy could not know that he just ran over something, I'll never know. It would have been quite obvious to him). I was horrified!!! I could not stop shaking for hours! I kept replaying that scene over and over all day long and for I don't know how many days after that. Just writing about it now is affecting me.

>Wow. That is a real claim to fame. Amazingly enough I don't think I've ever hit an animal, even a pigeon. Although I have nightmares about something I witnessed once.

>I lived in a big apartment complex in the Marina when I first moved to LA. There were a couple ponds in this complex that attracted flying animals. I would grab the bus right outside the complex to get downtown.
>
>One day I was at the bus stop with a couple other people and a momma duck was leading her family of baby ducks from across the driveway to get to one of the ponds. All of a sudden a lady in a lexus comes barrelling down the driveway and mows down all the children. The mom starts shrieking, it was awful. The lady in the car stopped for about 10 seconds when she heard the shrieking, looked at us at the bustop, then barrelled on out. If only Tony Soprano was around at the time. He would have known how to handle the lady.

>>Sounds good. But I'm just having a tough time picturing a Llama run wild. I'm still working on it thou.
>>
>>Slightly off-topic...I have the distinction of being one of the few people to hit not only Bambi, but an emu as well.
>>
>>I only recall three things about the emu....seeing that damn animal run out onto the road, the loud THUD, and then feathers everywhere in the rear-view mirror.
