In one picture, you can see the bird's wing sticking out of the side of the front nose cone ... just the wing, stuck in the crack it had made when it hit. Amazing that there was that much damage. They must have been cruising fairly fast. They can't go past 250kts below 10,000ft IIRC, but a big bird would have a lot of inertia if you hit him anywhere close to that.
