I have data from my own company, and looking at the resumes during those years told quite the story.
They were full of stints here and stints there, and of the ones like that were hired, it just seemed like they were killing time between stints and adding no real value to our company.
I'm not trying to single out anyone, just using some examples.
Our tech "industry" has basically been standing still or taking orders from the kids behind sites like MySpace and YouTube.
Of all the old tech giants, HP, IBM, SUN and Microsoft, it seems Apple is the only one that's made itself relevant going into the future.

They don't make the kind of software I use these days.
