>>>Apple is the only one that's made itself relevant going into the future.

>>I remember going to Apple user group meetings in Cupertino in the late 70s when both Steves would show up and the incredible difference that was apparent in them. Woz was the technical brains behind it. At MS that would have meant having him run the company instead of do what he knew how to do <g> Jobs, on the other hand, I think increased his value to Apple as he focused more closely on business and evangelism, where his gifts seem to lie. Kind of th opposite journey of a lot of MS people.

>We may well have been at the same meetings! Yes, Woz was the innovator and Jobs the BS artist. Did you ever attend the S 100 Bus meetings? I attended both.

No, the S100 meeting were for guys that actually understood that stuff <g> I was over my head just at the Apple meetings. I do remember being at a meeting where Woz gave a one hour talk on some assembler programming trick that would save about 2 bytes of memory and I would have understood it as well if he had given it in Ukranian or acted it out with finger puppets <g>

Charles Hankey

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
