I spent time in Denver, Boulder, Lafayette, Nederland, Ward, and Longmont. I spent the most time in Grand Junction. Grand Junction was in a huge slump after the oil shale developers pulled out in the early 80s. Now it's all starting up again. In between, it became a spot for stars and rich folks from California to relocate and now you can't buy a small 3 bedroom house for less than half a million dollars. Ridiculous.
>That's the one that surprised the authors the most. Although seeing that a couple banks have their headquaters saw makes sense. I left Denver cause it was dependent on the oil industry, which had a big slump in the late 80s. It causes a lot of problems if your city is dependent on 1 industry.
