Yes it is insulting to tell another to grow up. It is another way of saying 'stop acting childish'. It is derogatory. It is the act of someone who thinks high of oneself and low of the other. It is an act of arrogancy, of too much self-esteem and not enough respect for the other.

That's your evaluation of her, not mine. I don't think of her as weak at all. Some here see it as strong if she stops. I think what she needs most now is growing more and more assertive. All who slap her in the face here with so-called 'tough love' deserve some slaps back from her.
