A combo box with style 0 allows user to enter new value but doesn't save it You've to write code to do that. Check Re: Combo box bound to an array Message #1281362.

However I now have a situation where I want to give the user a list of suggested values (as guidance) but allow them to input their own value if none of the suggested values is appropriate. I do want to save the new value to the control source, but do not want to save to the underlying rowsource table.
