I thought you may use Project Hook to add cleanup code there, but I think I'm wrong and it can not be done this way.

Just in case, I found this message Re: Clean Up Thread #612570 Message #612666

Anyway, I had macros defined (my colleague's technique). So, for F4 I had
clear all
close all
clear

some other stuff, and before doing something I used to press F4.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
