I would create a program, for instance "compile.prg", that does all the necessary steps.

This program might do additional tasks. For example, in Bata/Bolivia, a similar program does the compilation, and copies the executable to the server, renaming it to the next version number (for example, if the previous version was called MyExe1005.exe, the next one will be MyExe1006.exe).
