I was surprised to hear John McCain on the radio this morning speaking of Obama as though he is already the nominee. That seems premature given that the delegate count is still close and both Obama and Clinton need several hundred more. Obama's string of victories (including Super Tuesday, when he won most states although not the big two) may have left Hillary in a hole from which she will be unable to extricate herself. But it's not over yet.

That said, I have to say I like Obama's chances at this point. One thing I found interesting about yesterday's results was that Hillary's base seems to be breaking down. Obama got more than 50% of the female vote and nearly 50% of the white vote. If she doesn't do extremely well in her so-called firewall states, Texas and Ohio, on March 4 she's toast.
