>>Background: I do my development on a 19" monitor, which I have set to a small resolution so I can get more on the screen. I knew I should set my maiximum form size to 640x480 which I did. However, when I run the forms/classes I create on my large monitor on a 15" monitor with 640x480 resolution, the most of the form fits on the screen, but the fonts and other controls are unnecessarily large and some of the controls fall off the bottom of the screen. (When I was testing I thought my smaller monitor was in 640x480 mode, but learned it wasn't after some users had different results!)

Or, to put it another way, I like the actual size of the fonts and controls on my big screen. Is there a way of keeping them the same scale, when displayed on a monitor with different resolution, or does that go with the territory?

But whatever I do, I immediately test on the 15" to ensure that all fits snugly...in fact, I use an old 100 Mhz clunker to test, that being the minimum level I need my apps to run on. So if you can get an old machine to test on, that's a good solution...

That's good advice, and more or less what I have here, except for, as I mentioned I thought my 15" was in 640x480 and it wasn't. Maybe you can clear up my confusion though about what to expect. Do the fonts (whatever size they are) on your 17" appear relatively larger on your 15"? If that's the case, then I'll need to account for that in the future (e.g. make the fonts on my 19" in development) a certain percentage smaller, so they look OK on the 640x480.
