Kevin, it seems that it took you longer to get fed up with John's style than it took many of us. I don't call it blowing off steam but rather that he seems to get an ego boost out of putting others down. You have put the disagreement in the past and would like to see him back in the UT. I don't see any benefit to this community from his presence and would prefer that he frequent some other forum.

Actually, looking back, our disagreement/blow-up was both our faults. Stuff happens.

Is John rough? Can he be nasty sometimes? Sure. He'll be the first to admit it. But the vast majority of the time, he's right. If someone with his level of technical skills doesn't provide "benefit" to a technical forum, then I would submit that reasons for not wanting him are purely personal.
