>Peter,
>I agree if you dont speak Dutch and you dont know the code is made by a Dutch native speaker. Everybody else reads this as programmerslanguage, if you than just assume you know this programmers language without bothering to read the function at least once, you are bound to make wrong conclusions. And of course the programmer should at least have made a clear explication in his function description that UntillAndWith stands for EndDate inclusive.

I have almost always used English words/terms for variables, properties, functions, methods and comments in my apps. That's not always a logical thing in an app that is meant for a fully Dutch client. However, I wanted my apps to be maintainable by all who speak English. And many clients also have this as a requirement.

Last year I built an app with a fully Dutch interface and I even allowed myself to use Dutch words for the source code and the comments. I must admit, that was a relief in some aspects. Tuning variable names to captions was somewhat easier. Still, I managed to keep most names 'international'. E.g. chkInfoFilter is understood in Dutch and in English.

Most advantage was in commenting, I think. It is so much easier to express in the native language. It almost makes me jealous at all those native English speakers. They also have far less trouble reading the manuals and articles. And occasionally I discover a word in a comment that is incorrectly used in the context and makes interpretation a problem. An example is the word 'eventually' (see my signature here). Last week I saw the word used in a comment I wrote some years ago and it was really confusing the comment.
Groet,
