I used to prefix my columns with the type. I used to do this to make sure I didn't run into naming conflicts (and it was the naming convention at the past places I've worked), but honestly it wasn't really a problem I ran into so I started to rethink it. Over the past year or so I've completely gotten away from doing that anymore. I've found I like the non-prefixed column names much better.
