Then why the crack about the bullet dodged ? Even with a smiley added, at least I would parse this as "no big loss".
I have met Craig at the german devcon, also went to a few of his sessions - he knows the stuff he is talking about and still just one of the guys working with MS tools who knows enough to talk about it. His accompanying documentation is great - if you miss a session if there is an even more intersting one scheduled in parallell, you can get a clear picture from docs alone, if you read them.
Even without that, he definately helps here a lot - and if on a technical disagreement he decides not to argue ad nauseam after stating his position/belief, that is just fine with me. I usually get the point on the first answer, and if not: I can always ask and he will try to answer, as I try to ask politely. Especially in online exchanges, where nuances of facial expression posture and so on are missing I think it would be more important to be civil and to make the message unambigous (ok, here I also fail sometimes...).
As mentioned before, I am low on preacher's, politicians's and flock genes, even if I sometimes follow the "heated" exchanges.
