http://reviews.cnet.com/printers/Sometimes there is useful user feedback/reviews at sites like Amazon. It's worthwhile reading negative reviews, usually it's easy to find out *bad* things about a specific printer in real-world use.
Years ago, early Xerox solid-ink printers came with free black ink for life (actually might have been back when they were still Tektronix). Don't know if that's still the case ;)
