I disagree it truly debunks it. Reading the report, it states that you can only compare survival rates if the patient had the same treatment in the same quality of care hospital or treatment center. I don't think that is true. One treatment may be more successful in some cancer types than others and if a country chose to only allow one type of treatment or not all, then you can't compare survival rates? It basically states that you can only compare survival rates of radiation treatment in the same in other countries. Hogwash. The idea is to provide as many proven or new treatments in a safe and monitored environment. Besides, the study was cancer survival rates. It doesn't matter what the treatment was, the only thing that matters in the numbers is the percentages is the survival rate. It should encompass all types of treatments - the treatment is irrelevant as far as the numbers in this goes. To compare which treatment is better, then each should be looked at in depth. Not the same thing.

>>>I only denigrated the 'free' health care of Cuba in so much as Castro has used it like bread and circuses. Swapping freedom for free health care still doesn't seem like a good deal, though I believe in both.

>>Same here. I'm a proponent for free health care (and I'm mostly libertarian - I know, it makes no sense). However, in Britain's case when it comes to cancer, I'm not sure the national system is the best route to go:

On the NHS and at no cost (apart from years of Tax and NI contributions of course) over the years he's also had a triple bypass and been treated for multiple injuries after a serious car crash again at no cost.

>Also I think health care in Cuba would be a lot better but for 50 years of punitive US sanctions.
