I thought superdelegates were established to make such obvious manouvers unneccessary/the whole thing more palatable. Think of the numbers involved: 20% superdelegates voting en block could elevate a 31% over a 49%. In real life you will have some dissewnt in the supers as well: perhaps a 15% to 5% preference for the second winner. Anything changing a 10% real lead should lead either to unwanted commentary and demonstration but would also risk the following election as some dems would stay at home.
