MVP is an annual award, isn't it? So it only needed to happen one year. After NET appeared on the scene, presumably. ;-)

Kevin, I'm trying to figure out whether you're trying to emulate somebody's debating style here, or are you just being very crafty selecting the least likely straw man to try to cause a reaction? ;-)

Nice try John....and this is really getting quite boring.

The facts: John was a Fox MVP from 1996 to 2000. In his first year, he penned a great book with a few others (the famous purple book), had the Dr. Fox thing going in FoxTalk, spoke frequently on Fox, etc.

So he was already established as a VFP MVP long before things like the white paper, or any promotion of things like .NET. Now, did things like the white paper help him that particular year (1999)? I'm sure it did...but there was no "quid pro quo". That is a FACT.

Tell you what....what do you think of Walter's statement that John purchased his MVP with his ADO white paper (which he wrote in 1999, three years after gaining MVP status). I see you left that one alone....do you agree with Walter...or do you pity Walter so much that you essentially just leave him be with these statements?

John, I'm sorry, but I'm back to thinking about you the way I did before - that you're far too intelligent for this.
