Actually, this is a new and improved kind of censorship. Previously, anything politically embarrassing for powers-that-be could be censored. Now this is a finer comb, this refuses to accept "anything resembling an URL which may cause you (or us) to get screwed up will be filtered out rather than risking that you might come to think that something bad happened on our watch".

It's basically a nice story of how CYA breeds censorship ;).
