It could be Windows Update running and checking for updates. What have you got that set to? Auto, download but confirm?... What about AV updates?

>Thanks, I did as you suggested. I had the utility open and I could see my known processes which I closed one by one. Then I started on the (my) unknown ones, none of the ones I closed made any change to the usage. Finally the below mentioned stuff was remaining. I was not able to end any of these processes.
