No, we really didn't solve this problem. What we do instead is check who has certain files open.

I wouldn't say Bolivia is very risky for tourists - the main thing to be aware of is that travels may take longer than expected, because of frequent road blocks.
Americans should be somewhat careful, I think, because of anti-American attitudes. However, I don't know of almost any cases of violence against Americans.
