You (should) know that I oftentimes defend the U.S. here. There are plenty of such examples here on the UT over the years. I live in a country where far too many people have a really negative opinion about the U.S. In debates with my fellow citizens I am always the one who defends the U.S. It sometimes ruins my name and costs me all the credit, but I think your country deserves it. Having said that, I also wish to be allowed to sometimes criticize your culture and here is such a case.
Even if I'd be a citizen of your country and if I'd have the same moral ideas as I currently have, I'd mention my own country silly because its voters tolerate that audiences are totally manipulated and instructed when and how to cheer, laugh and yell. That is not the type of behavior that suits a democratic country of non-childish citizens. Such manipulation is not possible here in the Netherlands because it wouldn't be tolerated by the citizens.
Now you can react that the Dutch are known for having an opinion about everything. :)
