Don't forget Germans. It seems like a good part of Wisconsin and Minnesota were settled by Germans and Scandinavians. (Well, native Americans before that, as you know). No wonder there are so many blondes.
Garrison Keillor had a great line. He said when my forefathers left Norway it never occurred to them to migrate south, they headed straight for Minnesota.
