Can't really help with getting rid of the main window message; nothing I did would kill it *but* you can start your query session with the following:

SET ALTERNATE TO showplan.txt
SET ALTERNATE ON

**** Do your queries

SET ALTERNATE TO
SET ALTERNATE OFF

Now the file showplan.txt will contain all of the optimization messages.


>I am trying to test the performance of a system and so I would like to list all the non optimised queries. However the sys(3054) function only output to the active window, I need the information to be piped to a file? Does anyone know how to do this or is there an alternative method?
