The only solid reason we really need to replace our oil usage is because some day oil is going to run out. (The green argument isn't that solid.)

I hadn't assumed we're progressing toward alternative energy on a poor schedule with regards to the oil supply schedule.

The evidence I see is we've got quite a bit of ways to go on alternatives to oil, but we have quite a bit of oil for now. Seems to naturally work out.

Any evidence to the contrary would be interesting to see.


But, that said, I agree with you. Results are the best. I've been looking solar panels for my house. I would expect the results to appear on my energy bills, directly affecting how much money I have to contribute toward other aspects of the economy.
