>>My daughters had been using a program called BearShare to steal download songs from the internet. I paid BearShare two or three times at $19.99 a year. The latest period ended and now I find they have changed their pricing model to $7.95 a month. Not only that, you can no longer copy those songs to an iPod. Soooo, can anyone recommend an alternative to the Every Song A Dollar model? (Steve Jobs, proprietor). I don't mind the girls paying for music (the horror!) but they would quickly go broke at a buck a song.

How is the sound quality if you do it that way? I am not looking for a concert hall experience but that "sounds" like the sound may be stepped on a few times on the way to an iPod.

Are the music companies suing people for downloading now? I thought it was only the uploaders they were after.
