I agree up to a certain point. It's like with everything else, too little is boring and too much is, well too much.

I have noticed something funny. Here in Europe the TV companies have microphones which actually do work, meaning that they don't create all those "beeep" sounds which the micropones in USA clearly make. Or maybe it's something wrong with the mixers? The funny thing is that they still transmit the programs although the producers must understand that something is very wrong with the sound. Like when Sarah Silverman sings about her meeting with Matt Damon, they released the song although the microphone and/or mixer broke down hundreds of times. :-)
