I found that we have to check Server Objects\Linked Servers\Providers\VFPOLEDB\Allow inprocess.

I just don't understand this setting. Isn't the reason to create linked servers is to execute queries on them? So, why should we have to adjust a setting elsewhere in the interface, a setting that we cannot even set at the linked server definition level.
