Ummmm......Try having to look for a job with "VFP" as your main or even only skill.

I think *most* respondents in this thread said they're staying productive while looking to the future. For some, that means VFP for the foreseeable future. For many, it means VFP today but considering other options. Others have already changed to an alternative and are very confident they made the right choice. Who could argue with any of these- unless people start pooping on others who disagree with them. FWIW, I've been advocating since 2003 that people should "STAY PRODUCTIVE" while remaining watchful and aware, so I'm not sure why you think I'm different from anybody else. ;-)

It's great you work for yourself, and find little pushback against VFP as your main development tool. But the majority of developers don't fall into your category.

I don't fall into that category either. What I said is that very capable people with whom I've been dealing recently don't ask or care what happens on the server- apart from the database, which is MySQL or SQL Server. I didn't say we're using VFP; it's irrelevant. People just don't seem to care in an ASP model. As for the database: we regard the database as the gas in the car- yes it's important to get from A to B, but it's not the purpose of the voyage. ;-)

After 5 days time, there was little to none message topics in the various .net forums. I don't know if this has to do with the fee's this site requires to get access to search functions. Or if .net people don't want to deal with foxpro type people. But Michael really has his work cut out for him if he intends on carrying on the UT as a business.

Not sure how we got onto this topic. Nor am I convinced that there are "net" people and "fox" people any more. Many/most people have at least checked out both sides of the fence. Others have gone across town to the LAMP festival too.

As for Michel: perhaps he'll festoon the site with Google ads like some of the "free" sites. ;-)
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
