Maybe not if the memo is just a log - it would never have been updated, hence no unused blocks.

I can't remember if there's a shorter way to change blocksize than copying to another table, zap, set new blocksize, modify structure (pro forma - change something then take back), append from temp table. I'm not even sure that would work; the default blocksize was always good for me.
