Actually, it's not just the announcement - it's the general "all your base are belong to us" capitalism that's screwing up pretty much anybody in the world, except the top 1%. You can't expect people with additional existential angst to be the most tolerant and understanding. It's so easy to play a divide et impera, and so hard to play it right. It doesn't mean we should just give up. We could just roll over and die as well, then.
