Thanks William,

I purchased a HP referb from buy.com and I have tried to install xp but could not find all the drivers so I reinstalled vista with the same results. I think I will try installing Linux and see what happens.

>>I purchased a new hp computer with Vista Home Ultimate about 4 months ago for home. I dabble in making movies in my spare time and that is about all I do with that computer. I upgraded the software I use as well and I have had nothing but problems. Mostly blue screens. I have been able to disable some features stop the blue screens but what a pain. Then I purchased a Harmony 1000 universal remote. I plugged it into the usb port to program it finished unplugged and instant blue screen. I get a blue screen every time unless I stop the usb connection first. I haven't seen blue screens like this since NT.

>One thing I've seen across all the vista installations I've seen or dealt with is rock solid stability - moreso than XP. Users generally either like Vista or hate it (I'm moving to the hat it side), but it is solid as a rock on compatible hardware.
