Does anybody have authority to check what hospitals in US are actually billing ?
Someone told me that in US only couple contribution to a child delivery could cost you 3 to 4k $$ (after insurance paid their part) . And that is in ordinary hospital. Is that possible ??? How much does it cost without insurance ???

Here you get 5-star threatment in a brand new private hospital with all comfourt (luxury environment,room with plasma TVs etc) for about 5000$ (caesarean section) of which your insurance (if you have it) will cover 90% so you pay arround 500$. In ordinary pivate clinics you can get the same for almost half price.

Some people even without having insurance still go to ordinary private
clinics just in order to have more privacy and more personalised threatment.

However, If you are without insurance and poore, then you go to public hospital and you pay nothing (0.00), but you share room with another 3 couples. (And that is not at all bad place as someone would imagine!)

Few years ago I paid aprox. 350USD for my son apendix surgery (10%) in one of better private clinics here.

Most of Doctors here drive big BMWs or JAGs as well. So there must be some serious miscalculation going on there if you have to pay 5 or 10 fold amounts for the same kind of medical interventions.
