This is usually the reason I refrain from going that way (unless it is a very complex statement and debugging time meter is aleady running). But as I find the second form more readable as well, the question is if reformatting for "line up" should not be delegated to a smarter beautify or other prg. If marking, right-clicking and selecting a menu entry were all the pain incurred - same comment ? I'd probably use the second form more often if less effort were involved.
