Here, myth is referring to the general sentiment held by what seems to be the majority of the VFP faithful, not targeting any individual or their experiences.

So you're saying your slap was "only" directed at the majority rather than any individual, which makes it OK?

Even if your latest suggestion were true, consider the first word in your quotation- "Agreed". You were agreeing with the charming previous poster who denied the experience reported by one individual- which you then described as a "myth."

If you have used VFP for 10 years and DotNet for 6 months of course you can work faster in VFP. IF you have used both platforms to the point where you have a roughly equal knowledge base in both then one tool is not remarkably faster than the other to turn out an application with.

Even if that is entirely true, what does it have to do with the experience reported here- self-proclaimed NET gurus with little or no VFP experience who crashed and burned? What you are now saying may be true, but it's not justification for denials and slaps in a different context.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
