I once saw someone unwittingly chose a dingbat font (e.g. Wingdings) for the Windows desktop font. Not suprisingly, the type of language that spewed forth from his mouth if depicted in a cartoon dialog bubble would usually be rendered using a dingbat font.

If you choose Symbol as your editor font, you can simply shrug and say "It's Greek to me"
