The original PDF I trust, because it is from a vendor that we have been using for years to create PDF files for us.
I tried to delete the PDF file from VSS and then add the original PDF back in this time using file type binnary (instead of auto-detect).
I tried searching for a link between PDF corruption and VSS but didn't get too many hits.

>I have seen some unexplained corruption in pdf files which might be explained by corruption while in source control. It might have been other factors (there are pdf trojans around now), so I can't vouch for sure.
