I understand what you're saying...but in general, I don't agree with these types of comparisons for anything beyond the simplest of examples.

There's still the need to understand IEnumerable, collections, anonymous types, etc. Tempting though it may be, I think one needs to check VFP syntax at the door if one is planning to use LINQ. (And that's not a shot at VFP...if anything, it underscores the fact that there's still a learning curve when moving to LINQ, and it's not always a pretty one)
