The Mere Mortals .NET Framework
> I'm wondering how this affects OakLeaf strategically, keep in mind they offer paid support on the product.
I'm not sure exactly your point here. Oakleaf offer general .NET training and mentoring, however I don't see an explicit MM.NET support product. We do subscribe to get updates, but the support is through this forum on UT - which is not limited to MM.NET subscribers (in fact participation doesn't even require PUTM)
What might be appropriate is a messageboard system that provides both public and private forums - and limit access to the private forums to current subscribers. Kevin can choose where his resources go. There's a balance to be struck there, however I believe limiting support to a private forum ultimately harms the product, since it hides an important source of reassurance from potential new customers.
Messageboards & Wikis can be tricky to set up but there are ways of doing this that don't involve too much technical ability on your own side. There are companies offering this commercially - Lithium, Wikia.com for two quite different examples.
This thread is going a bit off-track and heading into an area where Kevin should be more involved.
Case studies anyone?
