>I seriously doubt that they would experience data corruption with their SQL Server robot. I understand that it is common to have multiple SQL Server instances across many systems hit the SAME data on some single (probably fancy-dancy RAID) system. Designed into SQL Server I believe.
I also do not recall having mentioned there was SQL Server robots being run. I only mentioned that there is that robot being executed that is accessing our data.
>But maybe they know they have a flakey network. Almost sounds like it, since they seem to insist that both yours and the robot's data must be on the same system.
Well, that's why I am trying to get opinions on the topics. Because, they are doing a lot of work on those tables. They process 20MB PDF file and such every minute and that eats the entire CPU. For now, they have implemented delays to give us more power. But, that didn't work that much. The problem still remains. So, as I mentioned, I was surprised to hear about that as I never expected such a process to be installed on the server. So, I mentioned they have to move that on another box. And, this is when they mentioned that they cannot because of this problem of accessing VFP data across a network drive.
