For this to be one of the few "pay for tech info" sites, it seems to have a certain lack of professionalism.
At a minimum, paying/non-paying sites typically offer you a customization option for you to choose how much public info is available. To force people to show their public info, especially based on events that have happened here in the past, is beyound my comprehension.
>>I am concerned with the turn this forum has taken recently. Under directives from the UT management, I had to fix my information so it accurately reflects my locale. Having received threatening offline messages in the past which were only possible due to the information presented in my profile here, I was reluctant to do so. I find myself weighing the benefits against the negatives. Up until this year I never would have thought that possible. I am somewhat confused over the rules and not sure whether I have ever broken them myself in the past. I certainly hope not.

>Yeah, I don't like having the information that is required on the account profile to be available to the public, but I haven't seen a way to have it otherwise. I can see where MF would want to have it, but not so everyone can see it.
