Hmm. It was quite a number of years ago. I can't get the metrics today. In a nutshell, we had 12 servers with fax modems. A program on each of them selected data from a 13 million record table and created a file in an outgoing fax folder. Fax software on the servers, picked up those files, made tiffs and sent them. The program then updated the records so they would not be selected by another run. While this happened, data entry people would be updating records in the 13 million to complete surveys. The frequency of answers in the regions surveyed were also updated in a another table.
