You and three female grad students? Sounds like a lot of fun!

Re driving in Ireland, one thing you may want to consider, depending where you are going, is that some of the rural roads are terrible. Little more than one lane cowpaths. Which might also add to the sense of adventure, of course, as long as you are prepared for it and allow extra driving time.
