We have been doing everything in the form designer. Thanks for the idea of saving as a class. It should get me much closer.

Actually, though, virtually everything we have is in VFP 8. There are only two VFP 9 applications and neither is immediately subject to modification. I was really trolling for some general knowledge without any specific application immediately at hand. I appreciate your input (and I haven't forgotten Tamar's and Cetin's either)
