I was having the same exact issue with the paging and sorting. Thanks for posting the solution to your question.

When you implemented the native RadGrid paging, did you do anything to limit the dataset to the range of your page or are you returning the entire dataset each time? There is an example in the MM Developer's Guide on paging, but I don't think it is applicable to the native RadGrid paging.

I would also be interested in a solution for the filtering. Have you made any progress in this area? If not, maybe Kevin could look into this for us.
